1. Introduction
Welcome to Giggle ("we", "our", or "us"). Giggle is a two-sided service marketplace designed for teens, where Providers post services and Receivers browse and book them.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your personal data. By using Giggle, you agree to this policy.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following information when you register or use the app:
- Account information: your name, email address, and password
- Profile information: your role (Provider or Receiver), bio, and profile image URL
- Service listings: title, description, price, and image URL (for Providers)
- Booking data: booking requests, statuses (pending, accepted, completed, declined), and associated user names
- Ratings: star ratings and reviewer name linked to completed bookings
- Media items: URLs of photos or videos submitted by Providers for their profiles
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your account
- Enable Providers to post services and Receivers to book them
- Facilitate bookings and display booking status to both parties
- Allow Receivers to rate Providers after completed bookings
- Display Provider profiles and service listings to other users
- Sync name changes across services and bookings for accuracy
4. Data Storage
All user data is stored securely in Google Firebase Firestore. Firebase is a Google-managed cloud platform that follows industry-standard security and compliance practices.
We do not use Firebase Storage or any file upload infrastructure. All profile images and media are submitted as external URLs only.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. Your data may be visible to other users of the app in the following ways:
- Your name and profile are visible to other users when you post services or make bookings
- Ratings you give as a Receiver are visible on the Provider's ratings screen (including your name and stars)
We do not share your data with advertisers or external marketing services.
6. Children's Privacy
Giggle is intended for use by teenagers. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 without verifiable parental consent. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has created an account, please contact us so we can remove their data.
7. Account Deletion
You can delete your account at any time from the Settings screen in the app. When you delete your account, we permanently remove:
- Your user profile
- All services you posted
- All bookings you were part of (as Provider or Receiver)
- All ratings associated with your account
8. Security
We store your data in Google Firebase Firestore, which provides secure cloud infrastructure. However, please note that no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We encourage users to use strong, unique passwords and to not share their login credentials with others.
Note: Passwords are currently stored in Firestore. We recommend users choose a unique password not used on other services.
9. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Update or correct your information (via the Profile screen)
- Delete your account and all associated data (via the Settings screen)
- Contact us with any privacy-related questions or concerns
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
